The Center aims to promote greater justice in education by identifying and advancing solutions to systemic barriers and inequities that prevent students affected by the criminal legal system from reaching their full potential.
Our work builds on the Petey Greene Program’s proven expertise, track-record, and network of researchers, practitioners, and experts, while centering the voices and experiences of system-impacted people.
Leveraging this evidence-based expertise, the Center serves as a catalyst to promote access to quality education and career advancement behind and beyond bars, while leading the strategic growth of the PGP.

According to UNICEF estimates, almost 250,000 children and youth are incarcerated globally, including 21,000 in North America. Many more have incarcerated parents or family members. Join us for a discussion of the ways in which the criminal legal system affects youth and children across the world, and the people and organizations that are working to support them, advocate for their rights, and build pathways toward justice, healing, and opportunity.
