PGP NJ Partners with JEVS - Opportunity YOUth Academy

In June 2021, The Petey Greene Program New Jersey piloted a new partnership with JEVS - Opportunity YOUth Academy. Through this partnership, PGP tutors have supported young adults by providing weekly high school equivalency tutoring via Zoom.

Opportunity YOUth Academy, operated by JEVS Human Services, is a workforce readiness training and job placement service for young adults (16-24) who have been involved with the juvenile or adult judicial system in Atlantic County, New Jersey.

Thank you to the Church & Dwight Co., Curtis McGraw Foundation, George H. and Estelle M. Sands Foundation, Elizabeth and Barets O. Benjamin Charitable Foundation, Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, New Jersey Manufacturers, Nordson Corporation Foundation, Rolander Family Foundation, and Trinity Church of Princeton for their funding support of this program.

We are appreciative of the partnership. On numerous occasions our students have expressed the value they receive from tutoring, as well as the commitment of the tutors. The tutors continue to help reinforce the student’s motivation and determination to focus on getting their High School Equivalency. Thanks to the Petey Greene Program, youth enrolled in JEVS Justice Involved Bridges program (Opportunity YOUth Academy) have access to more learning opportunities with dedicated trauma-informed people.
