Big News in New York

We’re excited to share that The Petey Greene Program has been awarded a challenge grant from the NYC Department of Correction to increase access to education for people at Rikers Island. The grant will help students prepare for high school equivalency exams, provide individualized tutoring, and support student performance in academic courses.

“The City’s challenge-based approach encourages innovation, making it a natural fit for the Petey Greene Program,” explains Jeffrey Abramowitz, CEO of the Petey Greene Program. “It allows us to bring our proven, relationship-based tutoring model into jails in a way that’s flexible, responsive, and focused on student outcomes.” Read the official press release to learn more.
