General Tutoring Tips

  1. Tutoring is not a lecture session. Have a two-way conversation!

  2. If possible, sit side-by-side: this setup is the best arrangement because it suggests that you are an ally, not an authoritarian figure who dispenses advice from behind a desk. 

  3. Give the student control of the paper: keep the paper in front of the student as much as possible.
